The Toronto Blue Jays have traded right-handed pitcher Wes Parsons to the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for $250K in international signing bonus pool space, the team announced Wednesday.
Parsons, 31, opened the season on Toronto's Opening Day roster, but only appeared in two games before being designated for assignment when Paolo Espino was recalled.
In his two outings, the journeyman allowed six runs over five innings, picking up a pair of strikeouts.
The Blue Jays signed Parsons as a free agent in May 2023. He made his Toronto debut in the final game of the 2023 regular season.
Parsons spent time in the majors with the Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies before signing with the Blue Jays.
