Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will be back in the starting lineup and playing first base when the team opens a weekend series against the Houston Astros at Rogers Centre Friday.
Guerrero Jr. missed Thursday's win over the Boston Red Sox as a precaution after he fouled a ball off his foot in Wednesday's loss. X-rays on his foot came back negative.
The runner-up for the AL MVP award last season is off to another hot start to this campaign, hitting .309/.380/.559 with five home runs in 19 games.
In other moves, the Blue Jays selected the contract of infielder Vinny Capra from triple-A Buffalo and reassigned right-hander Bowden Francis to triple-A.
Yusei Kikuchi starts for the Blue Jays in the opener, which you can watch on Sportsnet and SN NOW beginning at 7:07 p.m. ET.
