Catcher Gabriel Moreno will make his first appearance with the Toronto Blue Jays since July 10 when he starts on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Blue Jays' top prospect will bat eighth and catch starter Kevin Gausman.

Fellow catcher Alejandro Kirk is out of the starting lineup with left hip tightness. He is considered day-to-day, though he could be available off the bench.

Moreno made his major-league debut when he was called up in June, playing 18 games and slashing .276/.300/.293 with no homers and four RBI in 58 at-bats.

After being sent down to triple-A Buffalo in mid-July, Moreno was recalled earlier this month.
