The San Diego Padres made a splash on MLB trade deadline day, acquiring star outfielder Juan Soto and first baseman Josh Bell from the Washington Nationals in exchange for a mammoth haul of prospects.
Indisputably, the trade beefs up San Diego's star power. But it came at a hefty cost.
The Padres sent left-hander MacKenzie Gore, outfielders Robert Hassell III and James Wood, shortstop C.J. Abrams, right-hander Jarlin Susana as well as first baseman Luke Voit.
