In his first major league plate appearance, Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Davis Schneider turned dreams into reality.
The 24-year-old took a James Paxton cutter and promptly deposited it into the seats above the Green Monster.
Schneider was recalled before Friday's game against the Boston Red Sox after hitting 21-home runs with triple-A Buffalo and made his impact felt immediately as a member of the Blue Jays.
He becomes the fourth Blue Jay to ever homer in their first major league at-bat.
The blast came off the bat at 106.2 m.p.h and travelled 377 feet to put Toronto up 3-0 over the Red Sox.
With the Blue Jays' offence struggling and coming off a series loss at the hands of the Baltimore Orioles, Schneider's presence was highly anticipated by Toronto fans as a hitter that could add some much-needed pop into the lineup.
