Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen underwent surgery on his right shoulder labrum and rotator cuff on Friday, leaving his status for the 2023 season up in the air.
The Dodgers did not release a timetable for Treinen's return and per MLB.com's Juan Toribio, the surgery’s "recovery time is around 10 months."
The 34-year-old right-hander missed most of the 2022 season with multiple shoulder injuries. He appeared in five games and allowed just one run in five innings with six strikeouts.
In 2021, Treinen made 72 appearances with a 1.99 ERA. He also picked up seven saves while striking out 85 in his second season with the Dodgers.
Treinen was a member of Los Angeles' NLDS roster, pitching one inning in the Dodgers' game two loss to the San Diego Padres.
An All-Star in 2018, the former seventh-round pick has spent nine years in the majors with the Washington Nationals, Oakland Athletics and Dodgers.
