Randal Grichuk hit a grand slam and starter Yusei Kikuchi threw two scoreless innings as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the New York Yankees 9-2 on Tuesday afternoon at TD Ballpark.
Grichuk turned on a 1-1 pitch from reliever Ron Marinaccio in the fourth inning to turn the pre-season game into a rout.
Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had three hits and drove in two runs. Bo Bichette, George Springer and Cavan Biggio chipped in with two hits apiece for Toronto (4-1).
Kikuchi, who recently signed a three-year deal with the Blue Jays, issued one walk and did not allow a hit. He had four strikeouts.
New York starter Jordan Montgomery allowed six hits and three earned runs over one inning of work.
The Yankees fell to 1-3 this spring.
