The Toronto Blue Jays looked to be mustering a World Series clinching rally in Friday's Game 6.
But by the time a minute had passed, it had slipped completely from their grasp.
Down 3-1 in the bottom of the ninth inning and with Myles Straw standing on first base, Addison Barger ripped a double that became lodged into the wall that, at first, appeared to cut the lead in half. Instead, it was immediately reverted to a ground-rule double that put runners in scoring position with nobody out.
That brought Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow out from the right-field bullpen with quite the mess for him to clean for his first career save with a pennant on the line.
He induced a first-pitch pop out from Ernie Clement, and two pitches later, a lineout to right field off the bat of Andres Gimenez that struck disaster.
Barger leaked too far off of second base trying to get a big jump to score the clinching run and was doubled off to end the game.
Three pitches and 55 seconds later, the Dodgers had fought off elimination.
Often called the two best words in sports, Blue Jays fans will now face a Game 7 in the World Series.
