Details: Higashioka is known for his defensive skills and hit a career-high 17 home runs in 246 at-bats with the San Diego Padres last season.

Team: Chicago Cubs
Contract: Two years, $29 million
Details: Boyd spent last season with the Cleveland Guardians, posting a 2.72 ERA in eight starts and a 0.77 ERA and 14 strikeouts in three starts during Cleveland's post-season run.

Team: New York Mets
Contract: Two years, $34 million
Details: After spending time with the Reds and Brewers in 2024, Montas heads to Queens to join the Mets. The 31-year-old posted a 4.84 ERA and 148 strikeouts over 150.2 innings last season and earned a post-season start for Milwaukee.

Team: Atlanta Braves
Contract: One year
Details: Gillispie pitched in the Cleveland Guardians organization in 2024, appearing in 27 triple-A contests and three major league games. He allowed just two earned runs in eight innings with the Guardians and received an MLB deal from the Braves.
Tommy Edman, UTIL
Team: Los Angeles Dodgers
Contract: Five years, $74 million
Details: The Dodgers keep the NLCS MVP in Los Angeles on a five-year extension. Edman, 29, joined the World Series champs in a mid-season trade and proved to be a force in October, slashing .328/.354/.508 with 13 RBIs in 16 post-season games.

Contract: Five years, $182 million
Details: The 31-year-old spent last season with the Dodgers' division-rival San Francisco Giants, where he logged 104 innings over 20 starts with a 5-3 record and 3.12 ERA. His new deal reportedly includes some deferred money.

Yusei Kikuchi, LHP
Team: Los Angeles Angels
Contract: Three years, $63 million
Details: Kikuchi was 9-10 in 2024 with a 4.05 ERA. Last season was the final year of his three-year, $36-million deal with the Toronto Blue Jays, and before last year's trade deadline, they traded him to the Houston Astros. There, he had a 2.70 ERA over 10 starts.

Contract: One year, $3.25 million guaranteed
Details: Farmer batted .214 with five homers and 25 RBIs over 107 games last season with the Minnesota Twins. It stands to reason that Farmer will replace Brendan Rodgers at second base after the Rockies non-tendered the former first-round pick on Friday.

Santiago Espinal, 2B/3B/SS
Team: Cincinnati Reds
Contract: One year, $2.4 million
Details: Espinal batted .247 with nine homers and 45 RBIs in 118 games last season, and with this deal has avoided arbitration with the Reds. The Toronto Blue Jays traded him to Cincinnati for right-handed pitcher Chris McElvain at the beginning of the 2024 season.
Dustin May, RHP
Team: Los Angeles Dodgers
Contract: One year, $2,135,000
Details: May, who was a member of the Dodgers' 2020 World Series championship team, has been limited to 20 starts since then due to injuries. He's had Tommy John surgery twice and was expected to return for the second half of the 2024 season but underwent surgery to repair a tear in his esophagus.

Lucas Gilbreath, LHP
Team: Colorado Rockies
Contract: One year, $785,000
Details: Gilbreath returned to the big leagues on Aug. 16 after recovering from Tommy John surgery. He made three relief appearances before landing on the injured list with left shoulder inflammation.
Matt Thaiss, C
Team: Chicago Cubs
Contract: One year, $1 million
Details: Thaiss batted .204 with two home runs and 16 RBIs over 57 games with the Los Angeles Angels this past season. The Cubs acquired Thaiss on Nov. 14 after the Angels designated him for assignment.
Mason Thompson, RHP
Team: Washington Nationals
Contract: One year, $770,000
Details: The Nationals avoided arbitration with the 27-year-old Thompson, who missed the entire 2024 season after having Tommy John surgery on March 1. He holds a 6-8 career record and a 4.53 ERA in 106 relief appearances over three seasons.

Details: The two sides avoided arbitration, inking Brown to a one-year deal after he batted .231 with 14 homers and 44 RBIs in 124 games with the Athletics last season.
Austin Slater, OF
Team: Chicago White Sox
Contract: One year, $1.75 million
Details: The 31-year-old joins the White Sox after splitting time between three different teams last season — The Giants, Reds and Orioles. Overall, he slashed .209/.321/.266 with two home runs and 18 RBIs.

Nick Martinez, RHP
Team: Cincinnati Reds
Contract: One year, $21.05 million
Details: The 34-year-old Martinez has accepted his $21.05 qualifying offer to stay in Cincinnati and will forgo free agency. He logged a career-best 3.10 ERA over 142.1 innings last season.

Contract: Two years, $12 million
Details: An All-Star in 2022, d'Arnaud brings the Angels a solid power bat who has hit 11 or more home runs in the past three seasons with the Atlanta Braves. He batted .238 last season with 15 round-trippers.

Austin Hedges, C
Team: Cleveland Guardians
Contract: One year, $4 million
Details: Despite an unproductive year that saw the veteran hit .152, the Guardians are bringing back Hedges to be the backup backstop behind Bo Naylor.
Kyle Hendricks, RHP
Team: Los Angeles Angels
Contract: One year, $2.5 million
Details: Hendricks had the worst season of his 11-year career in his final campaign with the Cubs, pitching to a 4-12 record with a 5.92 ERA while striking out 87 over 130.2 innings pitched.

Details: The Reds bring back the veteran lefty for 2025 after he served as one of their most reliable relievers last season. Over 65.2 innings of work in his first season in Cincinnati, Suter stuck out 50 hitters and pitched to a 3.15 ERA.
