If Ryan Mountcastle only faced the Blue Jays he would be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
The Baltimore Orioles first-baseman added to his impressive numbers against the Blue Jays with two home runs Tuesday night.
Both homers were off Jays longman Bowen Francis. The first was a three-run shot in the third inning — on just the fourth pitch of Francis's outing — to extend Baltimore's lead to 4-0. The second came in the fifth inning, a two-run shot that pushed the lead to 7-0.
Mountcastle, who entered play hitting .284/.323/.486, has now hit 17 of his 88 home runs against the Blue Jays, easily the most against any opponent. The 27-year-old also has 68 hits and 48 RBIs against the Blue Jays, also the most against any opponent.
The fifth-year right-hander has also hit eight of those home runs at Rogers Centre, the most of any road ballpark in his career.
