The Philadelphia Phillies have brought the power to the post-season and now have a new MLB record to show for it.
With three home runs in Game 2 of the NLCS, the Phillies are the first team in MLB history to hit 15 long bombs over a four-game span in the playoffs.
The previous record over a four-game span was 13, set by both the 2020 Yankees and 2008 Rays.
In all, the Phillies have 19 home runs in eight games this post-season.
Trea Turner went deep in the first inning and Kyle Schwarber set the record with a line drive to right field in the third. Schwarber then hit his second deep ball of the game in the sixth to extend his team's lead to 3-0. All three home runs came off Diamondbacks starter Merrill Kelly.
Phillies starter Aaron Nola was just as dominant as his hitters, allowing three hits over six scoreless innings. The Phillies won the game 10-0 and now lead the series 2-0 as the action switches to Arizona.
