The Tampa Bay Rays won't have one of their top starters in the mix when they begin their 2026 post-season schedule.
Manager Kevin Cash told reporters Wednesday that left-hander Shane McClanahan won't be on the team's roster for the American League Division Series with left forearm tightness.
McClanahan has been on the injured list with the ailment since Sept. 3. The two-time all-star also missed time earlier this season with a back injury.
Over 118 innings and 24 starts in the regular season, McClanahan posted a 3.36 ERA and racked up 106 strikeouts.
Tampa Bay clinched the American League East title with a victory over the New York Yankees, securing the top seed in the junior circuit and a first-round bye to the ALDS.
The Rays will face the winner of the wild-card series between the Yankees and likely the Boston Red Sox.
Without McClanahan, their rotation will likely consist of Drew Rasmussen, Freddy Peralta and Nick Martinez for the best-of-five.
