Red Sox place Rafael Devers on injured list with right hamstring inflammation

The Boston Red Sox have placed third baseman Rafael Devers on the 10-day injured list with right hamstring inflammation, the team announced.

Devers felt right hamstring tightness in his last at-bat, wasn’t running well earlier in the game and isn’t feeling great today. Cora said it’s possible he goes on the IL.

Devers, 25, started last night’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays at third base, going 1-for-3 with a double.

The 25-year-old leads the American League in hits (113) and is slashing .324.379/.602 with 22 home runs and 55 RBI through 87 games.

Devers was named to the 2022 All-Star Game as the starting third baseman for the American League
