The Toronto Blue Jays' Hyun Jin Ryu is on the road to recovery.
The lefthander, who underwent Tommy John Surgery in June 2022, threw four scoreless innings Sunday. He tossed 37 pitches, 27 of which were strikes, in his second rehab start with the single-A Dunedin Blue Jays.
There's no set timeline for the pitcher's return to the major-league mound, according to Ben Nicholson-Smith. Toronto GM Ross Atkins has suggested the 36-year-old will need a couple more starts in the minors before being activated on the Blue Jays roster.
Ryu is in the final year of his four-year contract worth $80 million with Toronto.
