The Toronto Blue Jays are making a move to improve their pitching development.
Toronto has hired former major-league righty Justin Lehr to oversee the team's minor-league pitching, Sportsnet's Shi Davidi reported Tuesday.
Lehr, 47, had previously been with the San Francisco Giants, working as the team's pitching co-ordinator on the player development side.
The Orange, Calif., native spent four seasons in MLB, working as a reliever for the Oakland Athletics and Milwaukee Brewers, and as a starter for the Cincinnati Reds. He had a 5.34 career ERA over 148.1 innings pitched.
