The Toronto Blue Jays are showing interest in free-agent second baseman Kolten Wong, and are reportedly prepared to make him a priority if DJ LeMahieu returns to the New York Yankees, according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network and FOX Sports.
Wong, 30, has spent his entire MLB career with the St. Louis Cardinals. He batted .265/.350/.326 with one home run and 16 RBI in 53 games last season.
The Blue Jays have been linked to a number of marquee names this off-season, with other recent reports suggesting the club has interest in J.T. Realmuto, along with George Springer, Francisco Lindor and the aforementioned LeMahieu.
Last week, the team was similarly linked to Brad Hand, one of the top relief pitchers in free agency, with Morosi joining those who’ve said the Blue Jays have been among the most active teams in baseball so far this off-season.
