The Colorado Rockies have reportedly come to terms with reliever Brad Hand on a one-year, $1.5-million contract.
The deal also includes a club option for 2024 for $7-million with a $500k buyout, guaranteeing the reliever $2-million.
Hand’s deal also includes a $1-million bonus should the lefty be on the Rockies Opening Day roster or Injured list.
The 32-year-old former All-Star has slowed in recent years with additional mileage on his arm. The deal marks his sixth team since 2020, including a brief and unceremonious period in 2021 with the Blue Jays that included a bloated 7.27 ERA in 11 games before he was designated for assignment.
Last year with the Philadelphia Phillies, Hand found his form, tossing 45 innings with a 2.80 ERA in 55 games, eventually helping his club reach the World Series before falling to the Astros in six games.
