Report: Dodgers, reliever Kirby Yates in agreement on one-year deal

The Los Angeles Dodgers have added another top free agent.

After reports surfaced last week that the Dodgers were close to a deal with reliever Kirby Yates pending a physical, the two sides made things official on Tuesday.

ESPN's Jeff Passan reported the Dodgers signed Yates to a one-year, $13 million deal. Passan added that the deal could get up to $14 million if Yates appears in 55 games in 2025.

The 37-year-old had a standout season with the Texas Rangers in 2024, posting a 1.17 ERA over 61.2 innings with 33 saves.

In 10 seasons, Yates has pitched in 411.1 innings, posting a 3.17 ERA with 95 saves.

The Dodgers, last year's winner of the World Series, have been busy this off-season signing some of the top names available in free agency, including Roki Sasaki, Teoscar Hernandez, Blake Treinen, Blake Snell, Tommy Edmon and Tanner Scott.
