The Boston Red Sox have signed former Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Raimel Tapia to a minor league contract, per the New York Post's Jon Heyman on Thursday.
Tapia broke the news to the baseball world by posting the Red Sox logo on his Instagram story Wednesday night.
The 28-year-old spent 2022 with the Blue Jays after an off-season trade brought him to Toronto alongside prospect Adrian Pinto in exchange for Randal Grichuk.
In his lone season with the organization, Tapia hit .265 with seven home runs and 52 RBI in 128 games played.
Earlier this off-season, Toronto non-tendered the lefty's contract, making him a free agent.
Across seven MLB seasons, Tapia has a career line of .277/.318/.392, with 26 home runs, 188 RBI and 53 stolen bases.
