Ha-Seong Kim is finally off the board.
The 29-year-old infielder signed a two-year, $29 million contract with the Tampa Bay Rays, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported on Wednesday. The deal includes an opt-out after the first season.
Kim played in 121 games last year for the San Diego Padres before his season was derailed by a shoulder injury in August. He is expected to return in May and play shortstop for the Rays.
Kim hit .233 last year, his worst average since the first of his four year career. He clubbed 11 home runs and drove in 47 runs while swiping 22 bases.
He stole a career-high 38 bags in 2023 when he won a Gold Glove.
