The battle for Juan Soto seems never ending.
The Athletic's Brendan Kuty reported that negotiations for the free-agent outfielder's services will feature multiple rounds, starting with a preliminary round to assess genuine interest from all those involved.
Negotiation rounds are expected to begin next week, and will continue as teams are slowly weeded out. The progression seems to point at a decision being reached around the time of the MLB Winter Meetings from Dec. 9-12.
NJ.com reporter Randy Miller released a list of five teams who are currently in the running for the 26-year-old Dominican's services, one of which is the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, and New York Yankees are the other four teams reportedly in talks.
While with the Yankees last season, Soto batted .288 with 41 homers, 109 RBIs and 129 walks. He has a career average of .285, with 201 home runs, having also played with the Nationals and Padres.
