The Boston Red Sox have agreed to sign outfielder Adam Duvall to a one-year, $7 million contract, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Duvall, 34, is a nine-year MLB veteran and has spent time with the San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds, Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves.
In 2022 with the Braves, the 2016 all-star appeared in 86 games and played all three outfield positions. Duvall hit .213 with 12 home runs and 36 RBI.
An 11th-round draft pick in 2011, Duvall won a gold glove and was a member of the Braves' World Series championship club in 2021.
He now joins the Red Sox, who are filling out the final spots on their roster. He could become the Opening Day centre fielder, pushing Enrique Hernandez to shortstop to replace Xander Bogaerts who signed with the San Diego Padres.
