Following a blockbuster move to acquire Blake Snell, the San Diego Padres are still looking to bolster their starting rotation as they are in "deep talks" to acquire Yu Darvish from the Chicago Cubs, according to Dennis Lin of The Athletic.

Lin reports that multiple players would go to the Cubs in a deal and, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, catchers Willson Contreras or Victor Caratini could be in play. This would continue the Padres' busy off-season as the team also reportedly added shortstop Ha-seong Kim in free agency.

Darvish finished second in National League Cy Young voting after going 8-3 with a 2.01 ERA, 2.23 FIP, and 93 strikeouts in 76 innings for the Cubs in 2020.
