The Philadelphia Phillies have reportedly agreed to terms with pitcher Matt Strahm on a two-year deal worth $15 million, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.
Strahm signs on with the Phillies after spending the 2022 campaign with the Boston Red Sox where he pitched 44.2 innings and finished with a 3.83 ERA. The lefty had a 1.231 WHIP with Boston, making an appearance in 50 total games.
Signing the 31-year-old reliever was not the only move the reigning NL champions made on Tuesday to bolster their pitching staff, as the Phillies signed Taijuan Walker shortly before inking Strahm to a deal.
Philadelphia will be the fourth team Strahm has pitched for in his seven-year MLB career. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals back in the 2012 MLB Draft before making his major league debut with the club in 2016. He then joined the San Diego Padres in 2019 where he pitched for three seasons before joining the Red Sox in 2022.
