The Tampa Bay Rays acquired outfielder Dylan Carlson from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for right-handed pitcher Shawn Armstrong on Tuesday.
Carlson is slashing .198/.275/.240 and has driven in 11 runs in 59 games during the 2024 season.
Carlson has split most of his time between centre field and right field during 2024 and has posted a .989 fielding percentage.
Armstrong has appeared in 38 games for the Rays this season, recording a 5.40 ERA, a 1.607 WHIP and 50 strikeouts.
