Red Sox acquire outfielder Tommy Pham from Reds

The Boston Red Sox have traded for outfielder Tommy Pham from the Cincinnati Reds, a source tells Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Reds beat writer C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports Boston is sending a player to be named later back to Cincinnati in the trade.

Pham has a $6-million mutual option for the 2023 season that includes a $1.5-million buyout.

The 34-year-old is slashing .238/.320/.374 during his 2022 campaign with 11 home runs and 39 RBI.

Pham has totalled 108 home runs and 339 RBI with a .261 batting average over his nine-year career.
