The Toronto Blue Jays' three-game series opener against the Boston Red Sox has been delayed due to rain at Fenway Park.

First pitch was originally scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.

Ross Stripling (5-3) is set to take the mound for the Blue Jays while Josh Winckowski (5-6) gets the nod for the Red Sox.

After taking three of four games from the New York Yankees in Yankee Stadium, Toronto will look to better their position within the American League wild card race in the three-game road set. The Blue Jays (65-55) are currently tied with the Seattle Mariners (66-56) for the AL's second wild-card spot, trailing the Tampa Bay Rays (66-55) by half a game.
