Could the Stro Show make an encore in Toronto?
Starting pitcher Marcus Stroman, who is heading to free agency after the New York Mets missed the post-season, said Sunday on Twitter he’s “definitely open to a reunion” with the Blue Jays.
I’m definitely open to a reunion.

Stroman made his MLB debut with the Blue Jays in 2014 and fell in love with the city, getting a tattoo of the skyline and wearing No. 6 as a shoutout to Toronto’s nickname. He won a Gold Glove Award in 2017 and was selected to the All-Star team in 2019.
Stroman was named Toronto’s opening day starting pitcher twice, in 2016 and 2019, and was the starter for the 2016 wild-card game pitching six innings and giving up just two runs as the Blue Jays went on to defeat the Baltimore Orioles 5-2 in extra innings.
He was traded to New York Mets on July 28, 2019. The 30-year-old Stroman made a career-high 33 starts this season with a 10-13 record, 3.02 ERA and 1.145 WHIP.
The Blue Jays could end up with a couple of open spots in their rotation as Robbie Ray and Steven Matz are also pending free agents.
