The New York Yankees' lacklustre play all summer has led to plenty of emotional reaction on social media from the team's large fanbase.
Once again on Tuesday, Twitter lit up during a Yankees game — but this time it was all positive news in the Big Apple.
Minutes after Aaron Judge tied the legendary Babe Ruth with his 60th home run of the season in the ninth inning, Giancarlo Stanton delivered a walk-off grand slam to give the hometown Yankees a stunning 9-8 win over the lowly Pittsburgh Pirates.
Reaction on Twitter centred on three topics — Judge's feat, the thrilling win and the continued awful play of the Pirates, who are showing their love for New York in their own unique way (by losing four in a row to the Mets, followed by Tuesday's setback against the Yankees).
Here's a sampling of the reaction.
