Bichette’s triple-A rehab assignment postponed due to rain

Toronto Blue Jays all-star shortstop Bo Bichette will have to wait another day to make his rehab outing with the triple-A Buffalo Bisons after the game was rained out Tuesday night.

Bichette, who was placed on the injured list on August 2 with patellar tendinitis, was originally planned to be the Bisons’ designated hitter Tuesday against the Rochester Red Wings and play in the field Wednesday.

The teams will now play a single game Wednesday afternoon at 1:05 p.m. ET.

Prior to the postponement, Blue Jays manager John Schneider had said Bichette could be back with the club as soon as Friday if all goes well in his triple-A outings.

Pitchers Trevor Richards (neck) and Chad Greene (concussion protocol) were also scheduled to throw for the Bisons on Tuesday.
