Blue Jays-Guardians game resumes after rain delay

The Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Guardians resumed play Sunday following a half-hour rain delay.

Toronto held a 3-2 lead when rain started pouring onto the field at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a two-run homer for the Blue Jays in the first with Spencer Horwitz adding a solo homer in the top of the third that made it 3-1.

The Guardians’ Daniel Schneemann singled with the bases loaded in the bottom of the inning to drive home Jose Ramirez when play was suspended.

Blue Jays pitcher Yusei Kikuchi gave up two runs on eight hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
