Though the Toronto Blue Jays lost to the New York Mets on Monday evening, they still have reason to be relieved.
Manager John Schneider told reporters that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had an x-ray mid-game which didn’t show any signs of a break or fracture.
Guerrero Jr. appeared to be in pain after taking a few foul balls off his foot, eventually limping off the field and down the tunnel at the bottom of the sixth. He returned later in the game to take his final at-bat in the eighth inning.
Currently, the Blue Jays aren’t ruling out the 25-year-old for Tuesday’s game.
“We’ll see how he feels tomorrow,” Schneider added.
Guerrero Jr., who owns a team-leading 28 home runs and 94 RBI, went 0-for-3 Monday against the Mets with one walk and two strikeouts.
