Blue Jays’ Jansen leaves game vs. Mariners with left forearm contusion

Toronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen left Sunday’s game with a left forearm contusion after being hit by a 95 m.p.h. pitch in the fifth inning.

Jansen would stay in the game to run and for two innings defensively after being hit on the left forearm by Seattle Mariners starter Bryan Woo.

Jansen underwent X-rays to check for a fracture, which came back negative.

Alejandro Kirk pinch hit for Jansen against Tayler Saucedo in the seventh and drew a walk before Santiago Espinal drove in a run to give Toronto a 4-3 lead.

The 28-year-old backstop was 0-for-1 in the game before his exit.
