Manoah was supposed to debut on Wednesday night but the game was postponed due to inclement weather. The 23-year-old was 3-0 with a 0.50 ERA across three starts in triple-A Buffalo before his promotion, striking out 27 batters and walking three over 18 innings.
In addition to Manoah’s call-up, the Blue Jays have placed left-hander Travis Bergen on the 10-day injured list with a left shoulder impingement, transferred Tommy Milone to the 60-day injured list (left shoulder inflammation), and put lefty Anthony Kay on the major-league 10-day IL with a left fourth digit blister (effective May 22).
Right-hander Jeremy Beasley will be activated as the 27th man for the doubleheader.
The first game of Thursday’s doubleheader is set to get underway at 4:05 p.m. ET/1:05 p.m. PT, with the second game set to start roughly 30 minutes after the final out of the first game but no earlier than 7:05 p.m. ET/4:05 p.m. PT.
