Dodgers odds-on favourites to win next year’s World Series

The Los Angeles Dodgers were crowned World Series champions Wednesday night, but it’s never too early to start thinking about next year.

Los Angeles erased a five-run deficit to defeat the New York Yankees 7-6 in Game 5 to win its eighth title in franchise history.

The Dodgers are the favourites in BetMGM’s futures odds as of Thursday to outright win next season, too, at +500.

No team has won back-to-back World Series championships since the Yankees pulled off a three-peat from 1998 to 2000.

It could even be a rematch as the Yankees have the best odds among American League teams at +900.

New York has several pending free agents, though, including slugger Juan Soto, while ace pitcher Gerrit Cole could opt out of his contract and hit the open market.

The Toronto Blue Jays‘ odds to win the World Series are +6100, tied for 21st with the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals.

For those swinging for the fences, the Chicago White Sox, Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins are all tied at the bottom at +50100.
