Dodgers trade LHP Matt Gage to Mets for cash

Matt Gage is on the move once again.

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Sunday that they have traded the left-handed reliever to the New York Mets for cash considerations.

The Mets will be Gage’s fifth different franchise over the past three seasons. The 31-year-old has spent time with the Toronto Blue Jays, Houston Astros, New York Yankees and Dodgers since the end of the 2022 campaign.

This season, Gage has posted a 4.29 ERA with 27 strikeouts over 21.0 innings with triple-A Oklahoma City.

Originally a 10th-round pick in the 2014 MLB Draft, Gage has played in the big leagues with the Blue Jays and Astros. In 19.2 MLB innings, he owns a 1.83 ERA and 20 strikeouts.

His longest MLB stint came with Toronto in 2022 when he threw 13.0 innings and allowed just two earned runs while striking out 12 hitters.
