Michael “Venom” Page avenged his only career loss and walked away with a three-round split decision victory over Douglas Lima in the main event of Bellator 267, which took place at Wembley Arena in London, England.
Leah McCourt defeated Jessica Borga by unanimous decision in the co-main event. It was the organization’s first international event since October of 2020 and first trip to England in nearly two years.
Page (20-1) suffered a knockout loss to Lima in May of 2019 when the two 170-pounders met at Bellator 221. he has rebounded with six straight wins. Meanwhile, Lima (32-10) is a former welterweight champion that has lost three in a row for the first time in his career.
“I wanted to finish him. He’s a tough man. I understand why he’s been a champion three times,” Page said after his win. “Even when I hit him with those big shots, he just kept coming and then he started to adjust and make it more difficult. I was confident. I knew he was going to go for a takedown. Every single striker that stands in front of me, I turn them into wrestlers. Every single one of them.”
The win means Page could potentially be in line to face reigning champion Yaroslav Amosov in the relatively near future.
“Now I want that bling,” Page said referring to championship gold. “I’ve come over and got my redemption. Now I want that bling.”
