There’s now a second Nurmagomedov to keep an eye on in the UFC as Said, cousin of lightweight champion Khabib, earned a highlight-reel technical knockout victory Saturday during a Fight Night event in Fortaleza, Brazil.
Nurmagomedov, a flyweight-turned-bantamweight, used a slew of spinning attacks and finished opponent Ricardo Ramos with a spinning body kick and some follow-up punches.
Nurmagomedov, who defeated Justin Scoggins by split decision in his UFC debut last July, improved to 13-1 as a professional mixed martial artist with the win.
The 26-year-old’s lone loss was in 2014 when he dropped a unanimous decision to Magomed Bibulatov, who just happened to compete in the fight prior to Nurmagomedov’s. Bibulatov lost to Rogerio Bontorin via split decision.
