Brent Primus will defend his Bellator MMA lightweight title April 13 at Bellator 197 against the man he took it from, Michael Chandler, the promotion announced Tuesday.
Primus (8–0) picked up a TKO win over Chandler (17-4) at Bellator’s pay-per-view event in June when Chandler sustained a freak leg injury early in the opening round. The 32-year-old champion has not competed since winning the belt.
Chandler, 31, bounced back from his loss to Primus with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Goiti Yamauchi earlier this month at Bellator 192.
The event will take place at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Mo. No other bouts have been added to the card at this time.
