UFC president Dana White teased mixed martial arts fans earlier this week by saying the fight promotion was in the midst of putting together a matchup between superstars Georges St-Pierre and Nate Diaz.

White’s claim was met by enthusiasm from some but skepticism from others, and Diaz threw cold water on the rumoured bout Friday evening with a fiery Facebook post.

In it, Diaz accused White and the UFC of “selling [the fans] wolf tickets on me GSP” while also accusing St-Pierre of being on steroids when the Canadian beat Diaz’s older brother, Nick, at UFC 158 back in 2013.

St-Pierre, a former welterweight champion who turns 37 next week, ended a four-year leave of absence in 2017, winning the middleweight title from Michael Bisping at UFC 217 in November. He vacated the title in December citing health issues and has not commented on when, if ever, he plans on returning to competition.

Meanwhile, Diaz hasn’t competed since his two-fight saga with Conor McGregor in 2016.
