It took Ryan Bader a mere 15 seconds to knock out Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in the main event of Bellator 199 Saturday night to advance into the second round of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix.

Bader, the promotion’s current light-heavyweight champion, landed a strong left hand that dropped Lawal and followed up with a series of strong shots on the ground.

Bader will now face Matt Mitrione in the next round. Mitrione beat Roy Nelson by majority decision in February at Bellator 194 in the opening round of the tournament.

Jon Fitch picked up a unanimous decision win over Paul Daley in a welterweight co-main event.

Also on the card, top featherweight prospect Aaron Pico stopped Lee Morrison with strikes 70 seconds into the opening round and Cheick Kongo knocked out Javy Ayalawith a punch in round one of their heavyweight bout to pick up his first stoppage win in four years.
