Sage Northcutt’s ONE Championship debut did not go as planned.
The former UFC star was knocked out by multiple-time kickboxing champion Cosmo Alexandre in just 29 seconds at Friday’s ONE Championship: Enter the Dragon event in Kallang, Singapore.
Northcutt went 6-2 in the UFC between 2015 and 2018 before signing with ONE this past November, joining the likes of former UFC champions Demetrious Johnson and Eddie Alvarez in the growing Asian promotion.
Despite having a striking background, the 23-year-old was no match for the 37-year-old Brazilian in the welterweight contest.

It was the first knockout loss of Northcutt’s professional combat sports career. He went 15-0 as a kickboxer and his two losses in the UFC were by submission.
Meanwhile, Alexandre hadn’t competed in MMA in more than three years but the former Bellator fighter has won eight MMA bouts in a row since losing his debut in 2011. Alexandre has a professional kickboxing record of 69-19-1 dating back to 2004.
