The action on the ballyhooed Fight Island got off to raucous start.
England’s Davey Grant picked up the biggest win of his career by flattening Hawaii’s Martin Day in the first fight of the night at UFC 251 in Abu Dhabi.
The two men traded hard shots and had a few exciting ground scrambles during their bantamweight matchup, but Grant connected on a flush left hook in the third round that ended things.

The win was made all the more impressive considering Grant said he had his jaw broken early in the fight when Day dropped him with a massive right hand midway through the first round.
Grant (12-4) was a finalist on season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter but has only competed six times in nearly seven years. The 34-year-old is now on his first multi-fight win streak since 2012.
Meanwhile, Day fell to 0-2 in his UFC career after dropping a split decision to Pingyuan Liu in his organizational debut in November of 2018.
