Wanderlei on Sonnen: ‘I want to suck his blood’

Wanderlei Silva had some choice words for Chael Sonnen, after Sonnen challenged the former Pride champion on Twitter and the FUEL TV show UFC Tonight last week.

“Jon Jones and Anderson (Silva) have been too nice to Chael. I want to suck his blood, I want to smell it. Not just fight. Not just fight. I want to hurt him,” Silva told Ariel Helwani on Tuesday’s episode of UFC Tonight.

“Chael is a joke, man. He’s going to be second forever. He’s never going to be first.”

Sonnen, who is a co-host of the weekly show, responded the way only he knows how.

“I think the real breaking news there is that Wanderlei Silva put together a coherent sentence that somebody understood,” Sonnen said. “But I can assure you, Wanderlei, I will not be signing a contract for you to suck on any part of me. I suggest you take a bath and find yourself.”

Both Silva and Sonnen have recently moved to the light-heavyweight division from middleweight.

Silva knocked out Brian Stann in a thrilling tilt in Japan in March, and Sonnen is coming off back-to-back losses in title bouts to light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones and middleweight belt-holder Anderson Silva.

Last week, Sonnen gave Silva a 24-hour ultimatum to accept a fight against him. Silva has not officially accepted anything, saying he hasn’t received an offer from the UFC. Sonnen said he’s moved on, but it remains to be seen what the UFC matchmakers will do.
