It’s been a while since UFC fans have seen Georges St-Pierre in action, but that will soon change (sort of) as the former welterweight champ is headed to the silver screen in April.
GSP landed the role of Batroc the Leaper in the upcoming action film Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and a four-minute, extended preview of the film that features GSP was released by Marvel Studios.
In the Marvel Comics universe, Batroc the Leaper is a French mercenary, so we get to see and hear GSP speak in his native tongue.
Watch the preview below:
GSP stars alongside Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson among others.
The Saint-Isidore, Que., native has some history in the movie industry. He has appeared in several Hector Echavarria-directed action films and last year he voiced a character in the French version of Pixar’s Monsters University. GSP was also the subject of a 2010 documentary called The Striking Truth, as well as the 2014 documentary titled Takedown: The DNA of GSP.
GSP vacated his title in December and recently admitted his decision was in part to deal with obsessive compulsive disorder. The Canadian has not ruled out a comeback.
