With UFC 202 fast approaching, MMA fans are starting to become giddy with anticipation for the rematch between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor.
Diaz submitted McGregor late in the second round of their UFC 196 main event bout in March after taking the fight on just 11 days notice. McGregor was originally scheduled to fight then-lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos at the event but the Brazilian was forced out of the fight with an injury.
McGregor was 7-0 in the UFC at the time and had just knocked Jose Aldo out in 13 seconds to become the featherweight champion. The Irish superstar was favoured to beat Diaz and started strong, landing a myriad of strikes and bloodying Diaz up. However, midway through the second round, Diaz turned the tide with a swift one-two combination that sent McGregor’s game plan into a tailspin.
The UFC uploaded the fight in its entirety on Friday in anticipation of their Aug. 20 rematch.
