Sprinkled throughout the array of celebrities from the fashion, film, television, music, business and political world, were a handful of athletes who receive the coveted invitation to the annual Met Gala, otherwise known as one of the biggest nights in fashion.
The event, always held on the first Monday of May, marks the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s yearly fashion exhibit, with the collection featured in The Costume Institute.
The theme of the 2023 gala and exhibit is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, which honours the late fashion designer, creative director, artist and photographer, who was best known for his work with Chanel.
