Lionel Messi will sign a five-year contract extension with Barcelona on Thursday.
The deal will keep the 25-year-old with the club until June 2018.
Messi extended his record streak by scoring in his 12th consecutive Spanish league game to give leader Barcelona a 1-1 draw at Valencia on Sunday, giving him 34 goals on the season for the Liga Espana lead.
The current Copa del Rey champions also recently signed Xavi and Puyol until 2016.
