Canada’s Oldershaw wins 2 silver at canoe WC

SZEGED, Hungary — Canada earned four more medals Sunday on the final day of competition of an ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup stop in Hungary.

Canoeist Mark Oldershaw of Burlington, Ont., won silver medals in the C1 500 and C1 5000. That gives him five medals on the World Cup tour so far.

Halifax kayaker Mark de Jonge added a silver in the K1 200. He won a gold medal at last week’s World Cup stop in the Czech Republic..

Four-time Olympic medallist Adam van Koeverden of Oakville, Ont., won bronze in the K1 500.

The Canadian team will return home to prepare for the national team trials at the end of June and world championships in August.
