CORSIER-SUR-VEVEY, Switzerland — World champion wrestler Taleb Nematpour of Iran has been provisionally suspended by the sport’s governing body after failing an anti-doping test.

The 29-year-old Nematpour tested positive for the banned anabolic steroid trenbelone at the Greco-Roman World Cup on May 23 in Tehran.

FILA says on Thursday the B sample also gave a positive result.

Nematpour has been provisionally suspended from any wrestling activity and faces a two-year competition ban pending a final ruling by FILA.

Nematpour won gold in the Greco-Roman 84 kilogram class at last year’s world championships.
